Electronic Riding Aid Systems

• ABS CORNERING: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Cornering functionality acts as a function of lean angle, using data from the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), to increase safety when braking in corners.
• BLIND SPOT DETECTION (BSD): The BSD (Blind Spot Detection) system signals vehicles that are in the blind spot of vision via the LEDs positioned on the rear-view mirrors, illuminating the one positioned on the side where it detects the presence of a vehicle. The BSD also signals the approaching from behind of vehicles at high speed.
• ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) AND FORWARD COLLISION WARNING: Adaptive cruise control, also known by the acronym ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), is an electronic control system that adjusts the speed of the vehicle while automatically maintaining a safe distance (selectable on four levels) from the vehicles in front. This makes it possible to ride at a constant speed on a motorway, for example, without twisting the throttle. The Forward Collision Warning system warns the rider in case of a sudden approach.
• DUCATI BRAKE LIGHT (DBL): In the event of sudden braking, automatically activates the flashing of the rear light to alert the following vehicles, a solution that further improves rider’s safety.
• ÖHLINS SMART EC: Semi-active Ohlins suspension, mounted on the sportiest models in the Ducati range starting from the 1299 Panigale, based on the Öhlins Smart EC system.

• ENGINE BRAKE CONTROL (EBC): System that allows you to control the level of engine braking when the throttle is released and choose whether to have more or less braking.
• RIDE-BY-WIRE SYSTEM: Also known as electronic accelerator, it is a system that electronically manages the opening and closing of the throttle (s).
• VEHICLE HOLD CONTROL (VHC): It enables smoother and safer hill starts even with a passenger and a fully loaded motorcycle. When the brake lever is pulled firmly, the system activates while keeping the vehicle stationary by acting on the rear brake. When the clutch is released to start and the system automatically releases the rear brake. The automatic action on the rear brake can also be deactivated with a close double pumping of the brake lever.

• ELECTRONICS AT THE SERVICE OF PERFORMANCE AND SAFETY: The Multistrada V4 RS is even safer and more efficient thanks to a sophisticated electronics package, now updated with the innovative Ducati Vehicle Observer, Suspension Mode management independent from the Riding Modes, and the Front-to-Rear braking strategy, for greater control. Performance and safety, hand in hand like never before.
• DUCATI VEHICLE OBSERVER - RACING TECHNOLOGY AT THE SERVICE OF CONTROL: The Multistrada V4 RS is made even safer and more efficient with electronic controls that act with greater precision. Shared with the Panigale V4, the function known as Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) estimates in real time the forces acting on the vehicle and sustainable loads in different riding conditions, simulating the input of 70 sensors together with data supplied by the inertial platform. Developed by Ducati Corse in MotoGP, the DVO allows for even more sophisticated management of key systems such as Cornering ABS and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), improving stability, control, and performance in every situation.
• EXTREMELY RAPID SHIFTING WITH DUCATI QUICK SHIFT 2.0: The Multistrada V4 RS electronics package includes the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0, which allows the rider to upshift without using the clutch or reducing the throttle. This system optimizes the acceleration phases, making them quicker and smoother, and helps emphasize the bike’s dynamic performance. In addition, the system allows for clutch-free downshifting, for quicker, smoother, and more precise shifting even at low rpm.
• BETTER VISIBILITY, GREATER SAFETY: Visibility on the Multistrada V4 RS is optimized with the full LED light that eliminates the dark area close to the front wheel, while the Ducati Brake Light EVO system increases braking safety, causing the rear turn signals to flash to increase visibility in the case of emergency braking, below 9 mph (15 km/h). With the Forward Collision Warning (FWC) system and its three levels of sensitivity, the front radar warns the rider on the dash when a collision risk is identified.
• FIVE RIDING MODES AND FOUR AVAILABLE POWER MODES: The Multistrada V4 RS is equipped with an electronics package that comprises five Riding Modes (Race, Sport, Touring, Urban, and Wet) and four Power Modes (Full, High, Medium, and Low). Multistrada V4 RS is the only family member to offer Full Power Mode (associated by default with Race Riding Mode), which delivers maximum power in all gears and ensures a prompt throttle response. The other Power Modes are: 1. High (associated with “Sport” Riding Mode) offers maximum power delivery in 4th, 5th and 6th gear with a slight reduction in torque in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, with a prompt throttle response. 2. Medium (associated with “Touring” Riding Mode) also offers maximum power in 4th, 5th and 6th gear with a slight reduction in 1st, 2nd and 3rd but with a smoother throttle response. 3. Low (associated with “Urban” Riding Mode), limits power to 114 hp (84 kW) with a smooth throttle response.
• OPTIMISATION OF THE ÖHLINS SMART EC 2.0 SUSPENSION FOR A SPORTIER RIDE: The Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension strategies are optimized to offer greater support during sports riding, while continuing to ensure a high level of comfort over long distances. The system works according to “event-based” logic, adjusting itself based on riding style. Another feature allows the rider to select the suspension management strategy independently from the activated Riding Mode. The four Suspension Modes (Track, Dynamic, Touring, and Low Grip) heighten support and precision, or comfort and stability, depending on the type of route and road conditions, without altering the engine response or electronic control behavior.

Engine

• BLAZING ACCELERATION WITH THE 180 HP DESMOSEDICI STRADALE: The 1103 cc Desmosedici Stradale unleashes 180 hp of power, transforming every experience into pure adrenaline. Steady, strong, and with a resonant, captivating sound for unique performance.
• DESMOSEDICI STRADALE - PURE RACING DNA: The only member of the Multistrada family to mount this engine, the V4 RS is equipped with the 1103 cc Desmosedici Stradale with a race-derived dry clutch. The engine unleashes a maximum power of 180 hp, with the limiter at 13,500 rpm, a value that guarantees sports performance while preserving the balance for which the Multistrada V4 has always been known.
• LATEST-GENERATION DESMODROMIC SYSTEM: The heart of the Multistrada V4 RS is designed around the Desmodromic system, the MotoGP-derived technical signature of Ducati that can transform power and excellence into sheer riding pleasure on both road and track. Each component is designed to ensure safety and reliability, even with the extreme engine speeds of the V4. The Desmosedici Stradale is equipped with four camshafts that activate sixteen steel valves. The intake valves measure 34 mm in diameter, the exhaust valves 27.5 mm. The valve seats in sintered steel ensure resistance and durability even in the most extreme conditions.
• COUNTER-ROTATING CRANKSHAFT: As with the MotoGP prototypes, the crankshaft rotates in the opposite direction to the wheels. This configuration opposes the gyroscopic effect, to the benefit of handling and agility when changing direction, as well as reducing the tendency to wheelie in acceleration. The valves are closed mechanically, ensuring the same precision as the opening phase. This allows for the use of more extreme cam profiles and timing that optimizes the dynamic flow of intake and exhaust fluids, for an increase in performance. The camshafts are controlled by two “silent” timing chains. Front end, the chain drives the intake camshaft, which in turn transmits the movement to the exhaust camshaft via a pair of gearwheels, for a mixed gear and chain system. At the rear, the chain drives the exhaust camshaft, which transmits the movement to the intake shaft.
• REAR BANK DEACTIVATION: To improve consumption and thermal comfort, the Desmosedici Stradale deactivates the rear cylinder bank when the bike is stationary, in neutral, or with an engine temperature of above 158°F (70° C).
• DEDICATED FINAL DRIVE RATIO AND DQS 2.0 SYSTEM: The Multistrada V4 RS adopts a shorter final drive ratio than the Pikes Peak to exploit the delivery of the Desmosedici Stradale engine, while retaining the same assisted gear ratios with the DQS 2.0. The quick shift system harnesses a strategy based exclusively on a sensor’s measurement of the gear drum’s angular position, allowing for the use of a connecting rod without microswitch and offering the rider more direct feeling and reduced travel.
• DRY CLUTCH FOR AN UNMISTAKABLE DUCATI SOUND: Like the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4, the Multistrada V4 RS is equipped with a billet aluminum STM-EVO SBK dry clutch, complete with a specific configuration of anti-hopping springs and ramps. As well as ensuring a smoother ride, particularly when braking and shifting, the dry clutch also contributes to enriching the sound thanks to its iconic and unmistakable metallic timbre when the clutch is released. Performance can be further heightened by using Ducati Corse Performance Oil Powered by Shell Advance, the result of collaboration between Ducati Corse and Shell in Superbike and MotoGP (+2.5 hp).
• EXHAUST WITH AKRAPOVIČ SILENCER AND EURO 5+ APPROVED LAYOUT: The configuration of the Multistrada V4 RS Desmosedici Stradale engine adopts an exhaust system with a titanium Akrapovič silencer developed specifically for this model.
